What skin type do you have?
I personally feel very up and down depending on my skin condition. In this cold dry weather, I and my skin get stressed easily because the cold wind and dry weather makes my skin very dry and it causes lots of dead skin and wrinkles. Different from summer, our skin needs a special skincare routine during the winter. I normally have combination skin, but sometimes, it changes to very dry and very oily. Once the routine breaks, it would be easy to lose our best condition of skin. In my case, I apply very light and functional skincare products as less as I can use in summer or when I have oily skin, but now, I am having about 4 steps of skincare. Of course, humidifier is needed at home and work. To make your own skincare routine, you first need to know what kind of your skin type is and ingredients your skin type is needed.
Let’s see the below skin types first;
Dry skin
People who have dry skin feel tight every morning or after washing. I used to be jealous of these people’s dry skin because they don’t have any breaks on their skin. however, they would have different suffers such as being itchy and feeling tight in the morning or after washing. Dry skin has small pores and is easy to be flaking. When they choose their cleanser, micellar water/cream cleansers with humectants such as hyaluronic acid and glycerin will be better.
Some ingredients to look for;
Mineral oil / Lanolin / Dimethicone / Shea Butter / Petrolatum / Urea / Oleic Acid
Oily skin
Absolutely different from the dry skin type, oily skin’s pores are enlarged and it’s prone to black heads and acne. Especially, the skin produces oils in the t-zone and the cheek area, and these give a shiny or greasy appearance which is a kind of stresses to whom has it. For cleanser, gel/foam cleansers that contain salicylic/glycolic acid.
Ingredients to look for;
Hyaluronic acid / Glycerin / Sorbitol / AHAs (glycolic, lactic acid) / Propylene Glycol / Linoleic Acid
Combination skin
Combination skin type is usually dry on the cheeks but oily in the t-zone, and has enlarged pores especially on the nose. It could be divided by dry-combination and oily-combination. Dry combination is what I mentioned above, and the oily-combination is oily in the t-zone and dry-to-normal on the cheeks. For cleanser, gel/foam cleansers will be good and opt for ones that contain glycolic/lactic acid.
Ingredients to look for;
Hyaluronic acid / Glycerin / Ceramides / Dimethicone / Jojoba oil
Sensitive skin
Sensitive skin type reacts very sensitively and negatively to many products, so it can cause breaking out or make skin very dry when people who have sensitive skin use products that do not suit for their skin type. This sensitive would be red, hot or even itchy when touched. To choose proper cleansers, cream cleanser that contains micellar water that are hypoallergenic and sulfate-free is good.
Ingredients to look for;
Hyaluronic Acid / Allantoin / Colloidal Oatmeal / Shea Butter / Soy / Aloe Vera / Bisabolol
